Audiophile Listening Room Near New York

Klinger-Favre loudspeakers and amplifiers in a dedicated room — 2.5 hours from New York City.

The audiophile listening room at One Soul Group is set up for serious comparison. Three Klinger-Favre loudspeaker pairs — the Studio 38, the Studio 17 UT, and the D66 UT — share the room with Master Amplifiers, Aurender streamers, and a Dr. Feickert Woodpecker turntable. The systems are configured for direct A/B listening, on demand.

The room is located in New Baltimore, NY, in the Hudson Valley, 2.5 hours by car from New York City. For audiophiles based in the NYC metro area, the tri-state, or anywhere within driving distance, this is the only place in the country to hear the full Klinger-Favre range under one roof.

What’s in the Room

The listening room is equipped with three different Klinger-Favre loudspeaker configurations, all available during a single session:

  • Studio 38 — the four-woofer floor-standing system, capable of reaching the deepest frequencies while preserving agility and detail
  • Studio 17 UT — the brand’s most requested design, bridging studio monitoring and full musical reproduction
  • D66 UT — the compact reference with the integrated coaxial ultra-tweeter, engineered to make the speakers disappear into the room

The signal chain runs through Klinger-Favre Master Amplifiers — single-volume-knob units with an optimized signal path designed to preserve the source intact. Source components include Aurender high-resolution streamers and a Dr. Feickert Woodpecker turntable for analog playback.

The room itself is treated for accurate listening — flat, balanced, controlled. The setup is not a retail display. It is a dedicated space built for evaluating loudspeakers against real music.

Listen First

The approach at the listening room is the opposite of the conventional audio-buying experience.

There is no spec-sheet presentation. There is no demonstration playlist designed to flatter the equipment. There is no pressure on a buying timeline. The session begins with the visitor’s own music — a familiar album, a favorite track, a recording the visitor knows intimately. The Klinger-Favre systems then play that music. The comparison is direct, unmediated, and on the visitor’s terms.

Technical conversation is welcome — Patrick Lo Re is an acoustician and a recording engineer with thirty-one years of experience — but it happens after the listening, not before.

The Builder Behind the Speakers

Klinger-Favre Audio is built entirely in the Vosges mountains of France by Jean-Jacques Bacquet — five decades of experience in loudspeaker and high-end electronics design, with everything assembled by hand to order. There is no mass production, no second-source manufacturing, no factory line.

Since 2004, One Soul Group has served as the brand’s exclusive United States dealer. The listening room is the only US location where the full collection is available for in-person evaluation.

Yes. The listening room operates by appointment. Sessions are scheduled in advance, typically with at least one to two weeks of lead time, to ensure the equipment is configured for the visitor’s session.

Yes — and it is strongly encouraged. Digital files, streaming services, and vinyl records are all supported. A familiar reference recording on the listening room’s systems is the most useful comparison.

The Studio 38, the Studio 17 UT, and the D66 UT loudspeakers, paired with Master Amplifiers, Aurender streamers, and a Dr. Feickert Woodpecker turntable. All three loudspeaker pairs can be heard during a single session.

The listening room is open to anyone interested in hearing the Klinger-Favre range. There is no purchase requirement to schedule a session. The approach is to listen first and decide later.
